Swine Aren't Pigs!

Swine is how we refer to domestic pigs. Swine can be raised in a variety of environments, including concrete, dirt or even inside your home. Be sure to include shade, water and protection from the elements. Keeping a clean environment will result in clean pigs!

Space requirements: 
When swine are growing they'll need about 3 square feet minimum per piglet, up to 8 square feet when they reach full maturity. Increased space will decrease heat stroke, fighting, biting and disease. 

Average days to reach market weight:
205-208 days to reach 220 pounds (or 1.5 pounds gained each day)

Average breeding volume:

• 8 piglets per litter per sow
• 2 litters per year
