Our Story

Pinenut Livestock Supply was founded in 1982 in Gardnerville, Nevada, and was developed between two friends, one of which is our current veterinarian, Randall P. Wallstrum DVM. Randy needed a source where his customers could purchase vaccines and other pharmaceutical products for their livestock needs. His friend, Bill Paullo, set up shelves in his garage, which was later expanded, to accommodate the inventory.

When Bill and his wife had to make a move to the Midwest, Randy needed a partner. So in 1994 John Keithley and his wife, Renee, came on board, moving into the house and taking over the business end of running Pinenut. From there the business grew and moved several times, to it’s current locations on Industrial Way in Gardnerville and it’s newer location in Fallon, Nevada, which was opened in 2012.

In October 2015, a third location was added, our new “Feed & Friends” division, providing more feed products to our customers and welcoming some new friends into the family. We currently have Joe and Kathy Bruno, Fallon Farrier Supplies and leather goods; Kim Bendickson, leather goods and custom leather tooling, and Gayle Hybarger, with her cowboy wild rags.

The employees, management and ownership of Pinenut Livestock Supply believes in good, old-fashioned customer service. In fact, that’s our motto, “Ol’ Fashioned Service in a True Western Spirit”. We strive to be a source, not only of veterinary products, but of information on animal disease, current practices and program protocols, new vaccines and their proper usage, and we’ve even been known to talk customers out of a product that they don’t really need!

We consider ourselves a liaison between our customers and the manufacturers of the products that they use. It’s our pleasure to work with many local and regional veterinarians, and provide service to customers throughout Nevada and California, as well as throughout the western United States.

So we hope you’ll stop by and visit, or give us a call.
